We found our inspiration in the visionary artist Lemi Ghariokwu, known for his iconic album artworks for Fela Kuti. Collaborating closely with Lemi, we set out to craft a beer that would pay homage to Fela Kuti's enduring legacy while capturing the essence of Nigerian culture. The result was "Shakara," a vibrant brew infused with the popular Nigerian botanical zobo, boasting a striking pink hue and tantalizing notes of strawberry and pomegranate.

But our collaboration didn't stop at brewing exceptional beer. We also worked with Lemi Ghariokwu to design Bature Brewery's innovative new beer, Shakara, and develop a visual identity for Felabration 2023, an annual music and art festival honoring Fela Kuti in Lagos. This holistic approach ensured that every aspect of our project celebrated Nigerian heritage and the profound influence of Fela Kuti's music.

Results:

The unveiling of Shakara at Felabration 2023 marked a significant milestone for Bature Brewery.
